How do I cancel, and what will it cost?

To cancel, the lead passenger must tell us in writing: by email to [email protected], or by post to Customer Services, Northern Belle Limited, Westfield House, 7 Westfield Road, Wakefield, WF1 3RB. An email cancellation takes effect when we reply to acknowledge it. A chat message isn't a cancellation, but you can start here and we'll explain your options.

Cancellation charges are a percentage of the total cost for the person(s) cancelling:

Written notice before departure

Cancellation charge

56 days or more

15%

55 to 21 days

30%

20 to 3 days

70%

2 days or less

100%

Any money you've paid is put towards the charge, and we refund anything left over. Amendment fees already paid aren't refundable. There are no refunds for passengers who don't travel, or for unused services.

Before you cancel: you may be able to move to another date instead. That's treated as a change to your booking, so the amendment charges in Can I change my booking? apply rather than cancellation charges, and the sooner you tell us, the lower they are. Someone else may also be able to travel in your place: you can update names in Manage booking before your tickets are issued. We strongly recommend travel insurance that covers cancellation.

Full details: Booking Terms & Conditions, sections 7 and 8.

If we change or cancel your journey, different rules apply. See What if Northern Belle changes or cancels my journey?
