Can the route or stopping points change?

Yes. We work within the constraints of the national rail network, so the route or stopping points can occasionally change. Your travel documents show the latest confirmed arrangements, and if a change affects your journey we'll write to you; that update takes precedence over the general information here.

A change of route or stopping points isn't a major change unless it also changes your departure point or destination by more than 50 miles, or your timings by more than 12 hours (5 hours on a day trip). If we can't serve your stop and offer you an alternative station, that's our change, and it's never treated as you leaving the train early.
