Our 1930s-style carriages have some limitations, so please talk to us before you book if you or anyone in your party has reduced mobility.
Walking difficulties: we can accommodate passengers with slight walking difficulties, and we recommend they travel with a companion or carer.
Wheelchairs: our carriages can't be boarded in a wheelchair. Passengers need to be able to walk a short distance to their seat, and our staff can help. Compact folding wheelchairs are stored in the vestibules between carriages. You can also ask for seats near the exits or toilets.
Mobility scooters and walkers: you can bring them to the train, but they can't be kept with you on board. Our staff will take them when you board and store them for the journey, and you won't have access to them until you get off. If you rely on a walker to reach your seat, please tell us before you book.
Some journeys aren't suitable for passengers with disabilities.
Help boarding: if you need assistance getting on or off the train, please tell us at least one week before departure so we can make arrangements, and ideally when you book.
Please contact the reservations team to discuss your needs and which journeys will suit you.
